HMPA Book Club: ‘Just Mercy’ by Bryan Stevenson

February 9, 2021

book club

We echo your call for more meaningful, genuine conversations around difficult topics, where postdocs can openly share their experiences and thoughts. We hope to facilitate a safe space where everything from race and equity, mental health awareness, problem solving skills, to negotiation strategies can be dissected by participants. If you wish to join us, please mark your calendars for the last Friday of every month at 6:00 pm.

In observation of the Black History Month, our selection for February 26th is ‘Just Mercy’ by Bryan Stevenson; the true story of a gifted young lawyer and his first case of a young man who is sentenced to death for a murder he did not commit.

Next month’s theme will be mental health awareness. On March 26th, we will be discussing the book from Eckhart Tolle ‘The Power of Now’. The world wide recognized author navigates the path for maintaining a mind constantly at still. We hope you’ll join us on this mission to spread understanding and wisdom in the HMS postdoc community!

Interested in having more meaningful conversations on topics like race, diversity, and culture with fellow postdocs? Join the HMPA Book Club!
