Drug Resistance GRS & GRC
The Gordon Research Seminar on Drug Resistance (Drug Resistance GRS) is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting-edge ideas. The 2022 Drug Resistance GRS will be a 2-day conference on June 25-26 immediately before the Drug Resistance GRC being held from June 26-July 1 at Bryant University, Smithfield, RI.
Drug resistance poses an immediate threat and challenge to the treatment of multiple human disease states ranging from infectious disease to cancer. Overcoming drug resistance requires a multidisciplinary approach that relies on collaboration between chemists, biologists and clinicians and greatly benefits from cross-disciplinary interaction.
We are working to build an international community to meet this challenge, and the 2022 Drug Resistance GRS will provide early career investigators the opportunity to present work on topics including:
- Resistance mechanisms in cancer and infectious disease, including bacterial, fungal, parasitic and viral pathogens
- Systems and modeling strategies to address resistance
- Combating resistance with novel targets
- Eco-evolutionary strategies to address resistance
- The microbiome and resistance
- Durable drug design
- Emerging strategies to combat resistance
All participants will have the opportunity to present a poster or a short talk as well as participate as discussion leaders. By providing a forum to discuss cutting edge research, we hope to stimulate innovative ideas, collaborations and new research directions that will advance our understanding of drug resistance and translate to novel drugs and other clinical applications.
